CNC Lathe Operator

Accurate Drilling. - Wichita, Kansas

Position Overview

We are hiring experienced CNC Lathe Operators to support our machining operations. This position will be responsible for operating CNC lathes and using precision measuring equipment. Ideal candidates will also bring experience in grinding, honing, or gun drilling, and programming as we look to expand into new areas with newly acquired machines. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute immediately and grow into a key role on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

CNC LATHE OPERATOR
Set up and operate CNC lathes and related equipment
Follow detailed machining/set up instructions and work orders to produce quality parts
Maintain equipment and tools to ensure consistent performance
Quality Control & Troubleshooting
Perform in-process inspections and adjust setups as needed
Identify and troubleshoot problems with setups, tooling, or part quality
Collaborate with team members to continuously improve processes Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and technical drawings
Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges
Specialized Machining (Preferred Experience)
CNC Lathe machining
Lathe Programming
Centerless or cylindrical grinding
Gun drilling and/or honing operations
Ability to independently operate and maintain grinding equipment

Qualifications

Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a machine shop
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions
Skilled with measurement tools and inspection procedures
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently
Reliable work ethic and commitment to safety and quality
Preferred Experience
Experience Operating lathes
Prior work in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments
Willingness to train on and support new equipment as needed

Additional Information

Citizenship Requirement: MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Work Environment: Manufacturing facility with exposure to typical shop floor conditions
Physical Requirements: Ability to move throughout the facility, including production floor
Pay Range: $17–$22 per hour (DOE); higher rates considered for strong experience in grinding or gun drilling
