Red Couch Counseling is a growing multi-location mental health practice serving communities throughout Central Iowa. We are excited to have an opportunity to collaborate with a community partner in need of mental health services. Your caseload is built for you, no slow build. This is a salary position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical counseling, with expertise in various therapeutic modalities and a commitment to delivering comprehensive mental health support. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual, group, or family therapy to diverse populations across outpatient and inpatient settings, utilizing telehealth when appropriate.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding standards.
Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices.
Provide individual, or group, sessions focused on mental health issues including PTSD, grief, addiction, gender issues, and developmental disabilities.
Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management techniques to ensure patient safety.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology appropriately.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate case management and optimize patient care outcomes.
Engage in clinical research or data collection efforts to enhance therapeutic approaches and contribute to the field of behavioral health.
Utilize telehealth platforms to expand access to services while adhering to best practices for remote patient care.
Experience working with co-occurring diagnosis (mental health and substance use)
Comfort working in an integrated, multi-agency care setting
Strong clinical judgement and ability to work independently and with a team.
Reliable, in person, day hours availability.

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; licensure as required by state regulations. LMHC, LISW, LMFT, Provisionally Licensed Clincians.
Proven experience in clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings; hospital experience preferred.
Proficiency in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and behavioral therapy.
Strong skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and social work practices.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and experience managing medical records securely under HIPAA guidelines.
