Physicians and providers are supported by our state-of-the-art UnityPoint Health – Des Moines hospitals: Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Blank Children’s Hospital, and Methodist West Hospital. Responsibilities:

Join a well-established and reputable team of 7 Infectious Disease physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers
Office space located in Methodist Plaza - attached to our primary hospital (Iowa Methodist Medical Center)
Teaching opportunities with local residencies as well as medical students
Large primary care system providing a built-in referral base
Infectious disease consultation and follow up at 3 UnityPoint Health Des Moines (UPH-DM) hospitals (within a 10 mile radius)
Outpatient infectious disease consultation and follow up
Participate in robust antimicrobial stewardship program at UPH-DM
Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and electronic consultative services at our affiliated hospitals/clinics
Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
Large variety of traditional and immuno-compromised infectious disease cases, including kidney transplant patients

Qualifications:

MD or DO
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Infectious Disease
Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
J-1 waiver sponsorship available
