Part-Time with Potential for Full-Time
We are looking for a motivated, adaptable Junior Creative Specialist to support our creative team and Art Director. This role reports to the Art Director and is ideal for an emerging designer with a strong foundation in graphic design who is eager to learn, take ownership of assigned work, and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of creative projects.
This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a more permanent, full-time position based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit.
We are willing to train the right person on many of our tools and processes. What matters most is having a solid design foundation, strong attention to detail, comfort with technology, and a willingness to take on a variety of creative responsibilities as needs evolve.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create and execute design concepts and creative assets for a variety of client projects
- Assist with the development of logos, brand identities, and supporting brand assets
- Design graphics for websites, social media, digital marketing, and print materials
- Assist with website design and development projects, including photo optimization, image editing, graphics, and other visual assets
- Develop designs that align with established brand guidelines and creative direction
- Translate client needs, project goals, and creative direction into thoughtful and engaging designs
- Assist with brainstorming, conceptualization, and creative problem-solving alongside the Art Director and creative team
- Make revisions and refinements based on creative direction and client feedback
- Prepare final, production-ready files for digital and print applications
- Maintain organization of project files, assets, and design deliverables
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while communicating progress and asking questions when needed
- Track project hours and assist with other creative projects and team needs as needed
- Follow established creative processes and quality-control procedures
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices
- Learn and work within new platforms, systems, and processes as needed
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, or a related field, or currently pursuing a degree with anticipated graduation in the near future
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Some previous or current professional experience, internship experience, freelance experience, school projects, or hands-on exposure to graphic design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Experience with or familiarity with Canva and Microsoft Office
- A strong and varied portfolio demonstrating a solid foundation in graphic design
- Strong understanding of design principles, layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
- Ability to take creative direction and apply feedback thoughtfully
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when something is unclear
- Comfortable learning and working within multiple digital platforms and tools
- Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
- A positive attitude and desire to contribute to a collaborative creative team
Helpful, But Not Required
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- WordPress
- Social media design
- Motion graphics
- Photography
- Digital marketing
- Additional Adobe Creative Cloud applications
Most platform-specific skills can be taught. We are primarily looking for someone with a solid design foundation, strong attention to detail, and the ability and willingness to learn.
