Full Job Description

Overview

DMARC is currently seeking a full-time highly skilled and strategic Grant Manager to lead our grant development and management efforts within a dynamic nonprofit environment. This role is integral to securing vital funding through comprehensive proposal writing, research, and relationship building with grant-making organizations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nonprofit foundation funding, community organization engagement, and contract management, ensuring that our programs are well-supported and aligned with strategic objectives. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by advancing our mission through effective grant strategies and team leadership.

Essential Functions:

Strategy:

Align DMARC fundraising and organization goals with DMARC strategic plan and project priorities of DMARC staff.
Lead grant and proposal research. Explore published information, electronic databases, and other research tools to determine potential funding partner’s priorities for funding and investment.
Develop strategies to solicit funds. Have the ability to creatively solve problems.
Identify and finalize annual list of potential funding partners.
Lead efforts to write proposals and reports to foundations, corporations and other funding partners.
Working with Development staff and Fundraising Committee volunteers to solicit sponsors for events or programming

Communications:

Partner with DMARC colleagues with all aspects of writing, editing, research and proposal management (for example, working with programming staff to experience and understand programs).
Prepare written materials and disseminate to support funding initiatives, including cultivation and stewardship materials and reports/summaries.
Prepare proposal collateral, including PowerPoint presentations, talking points and follow-up letters as needed.
Create relationships with funders to ensure that DMARC requests are well received and are a good match for the funding partner’s giving criteria and DMARC’s needs.
Develop strategies which both thank funding partners for their support and create stewardship avenues to deepen relationships and opportunities for collaboration.

Organization:

Maintain an annual calendar of grant applications.
Track and write proposals and reports for new and renewing funding partners.
Drive the proposal process by determining timelines and working with the team to ensure deadlines are met.
Serves as project manager for any grant awards to ensure that the organization is upholding the terms of the award and any final reports are submitted.
Maintain and update current and potential partner organizational contact information, documenting information and key conversations within donor management database.

Skills

Proven expertise in proposal writing, technical writing, persuasive writing, and editing for diverse audiences.
Extensive experience with databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems for donor and grant management.
Strong knowledge of grants management processes including research, proposal development, submission procedures, reporting requirements, and compliance.
Familiarity with contract management principles within nonprofit settings.
Demonstrated ability in project management—prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines across multiple grants.
Excellent organizational skills complemented by meticulous proofreading and content editing capabilities.
Ability to develop comprehensive financial reports related to grants; budgeting skills are essential for accurate proposal development.
Experience in nonprofit foundation funding.
Strong research skills to identify new funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
Effective communication skills that foster collaboration across teams and external partners.
Strategic planning abilities that support long-term growth in fundraising efforts.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
