General Function: The Paraplanner supports financial advisors by specializing in analysis, research, reporting and executing trades to align with client objectives. This position is an instrumental role assisting in daily business operations and helping to conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced, friendly, and successful financial planning practice. The Paraplanner will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation of ongoing financial planning deliverables
Assisting with the client implementation process
Analyzing client's existing holdings and overall asset allocation to provide recommendations for allocation and/or rebalancing of portfolios
Execution of trades
Running portfolio illustrations and hypotheticals
Developing appropriate product deliverables including allocation and model research
Providing relevant and up-to-date economic and market information during portfolio management meetings
Servicing high net worth clients
Leveraging contact management system to monitor client requests and servicing
Assisting with required regulatory filings
Analyzing existing financial plans, outside investment portfolios, and variable/insurance contracts
Managing retirement plan systems (401Ks, SIMPLEs, SEPs, etc.)
Acting as a technical resource to provide training and support to team members

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Series 7
Series 65 or 66 (or able to obtain within two months)
Life & Health insurance license (or able to obtain within two months)
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of direct experience in financial services industry
Physical Requirements:
This position is classified sedentary/light and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: sitting for long periods, talking (in person and by telephone), hearing and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are normally performed in a general office setting. This is a fast paced work environment.
There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
Contacts: This position works with Midwest Heritage employees, bank customers, Hy-Vee employees, vendors and outside agents doing direct business with Midwest Heritage.
