Job Title: Estimator

Location: Elmhurst, IL (In-person, Hybrid, and Remote options available)

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Estimator with 2+ years experience in the DFH industry to join our growing team. In this role, you will evaluate bid invitations, prepare accurate and competitive proposals, and help secure new business opportunities. Your success will rely on strong communication skills, technical accuracy, time management, and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain strong client relationships through phone, email, and in-person communication.
Review project drawings and documentation to determine material needs and accurate quantities.
Use BlueBeam Revu (or similar software) to analyze and annotate project drawings.
Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to develop competitive, well-informed bids.
Prepare estimates using Emullion (or similar) software, factoring in material costs, labor, and markups.
Negotiate pricing strategically to meet or exceed gross margin goals.
Manage workload and calendar effectively to meet all bid deadlines.
Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and documentation.
Identify potential risks or conflicts in project documents and resolve through RFIs.
Work closely with Project Management to ensure a smooth handoff of awarded projects.
Deliver outstanding customer service throughout the bid and sales process.
Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Previous experience in commercial Doors, Frames and Hardware Industry.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret and understand architectural and construction drawings.
Proficiency with BlueBeam Revu or similar drawing markup software.
Solid math and analytical skills.
Skilled in negotiation and relationship building.
Highly organized and self-motivated with excellent time management.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
High level of integrity, professionalism, and follow-through.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the construction or building materials industry.
Experience with estimating software (Emullion preferred).
