About the Position: Enclosure Fabricator and MIG Welder

Site: Itasca, IL

Pay Details: $22–$28/hr (potential for $30/hr depending on skill level) plus substantial overtime opportunities.

Hours: 1st Shift, typically 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with Saturday availability required.

Status: Contract-to-Hire with excellent prospects for permanent placement.

Position Overview

We are searching for a skilled Enclosure Builder and Fabricator who values precision and high-quality workmanship. Your primary focus will be the construction of custom industrial enclosures designed for mission-critical infrastructure. By interpreting detailed technical drawings, you will fabricate, fit, and weld various components, contributing directly to the delivery of sophisticated engineered systems.

Core Responsibilities

Execute MIG welding tasks on structural and sheet metal parts.
Analyze and translate intricate mechanical blueprints into finished products.
Ensure materials are cut and fitted to meet exact specifications.
Manage the complete fabrication process from initial layout to final assembly.
Utilize various shop tools including grinders, drills, saws, and precision measuring instruments.
Maintain a safe operational environment while utilizing overhead cranes and heavy machinery.
Verify the alignment and structural soundness of all custom-built enclosures to ensure high-quality output.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in welding and fabrication, preferably outside of a high-volume production setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, particularly for large assemblies.
Experience utilizing precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
Proven capability to maintain strict tolerances during the welding process.
MIG welding proficiency is mandatory, while TIG experience is considered an asset.
A preference for hands-on fabrication work over repetitive welding tasks.
Background in mechanical assembly is highly desirable.
Availability to commit to an overtime schedule that may reach 60–65 hours weekly during peak periods.
