Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Business Development & Operations to lead our growth initiatives and streamline operational excellence. In this pivotal role, you will drive the expansion of our client base, develop innovative business strategies, and oversee day-to-day operational functions. The Director of Business Development & Operations will play a key role in helping NZone Sports expand through school partnerships, daycare/preschool programs, PTA relationships, community events, and parent engagement.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, staying organized, and helping a growing youth sports business run smoothly. The ideal candidate is comfortable visiting schools, speaking with directors and parents, coordinating coaches, helping with program operations, and occasionally assisting with coaching or demos.

This role is best for someone who is self-motivated, energetic, professional, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Duties

Business Development & Partnerships

Lead the development and execution of comprehensive business development strategies to expand market presence and revenue streams.
Collaborate with marketing team to design targeted campaigns that generate leads and enhance brand visibility.
Schedule and conduct in-person visits, introductory meetings, and program demos.
Build strong relationships with school directors, PTA leaders, administrators, and community partners.
Follow up consistently with leads and prospective partners.
Help secure new program locations, enrichment opportunities, camps, field days, and special events.
Represent NZone Sports professionally at vendor fairs, school events, PTA events, and community activities.

Program Operations

Assist with the day-to-day coordination of NZone Sports programs.
Help manage program schedules, coach assignments, equipment needs, and communication with schools and parents.
Track leads, demos, registrations, enrollment progress, and program updates.
Support parent communication and help resolve basic questions or concerns.
Ensure programs are organized, professional, and consistent with the NZone Sports brand.
Provide weekly updates on outreach activity, leads, demos, enrollments, and operational needs.

Coaching, Demos & Quality Control

Assist with coaching or leading demos when needed.
Help launch new programs and ensure the first few sessions run smoothly.
Provide occasional coverage when a coach is unavailable.
Observe programs periodically to ensure quality, professionalism, and a positive experience for children and families.
Help train and support coaches as the business grows.

Marketing & Community Engagement

Help distribute flyers and promotional materials to schools, daycares, and community partners.
Support basic local marketing efforts, including social media content ideas, event promotion, and parent outreach.
Attend community events to promote NZone Sports programs.
Help generate interest from parents and families through professional, friendly communication.

Qualifications

Proven experience in sales, business development, customer service, education, childcare, youth sports, coaching, or community outreach or related leadership roles with a track record of driving growth.
Comfortable making phone calls, sending emails, visiting schools, and speaking with decision-makers.
Strong communication and follow-up skills.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
Professional, reliable, and self-motivated.
Enjoys working with children, parents, schools, and community partners.
Able to work independently and take initiative.
Must be comfortable with occasional coaching, demos, and youth sports activities.
Basic computer skills required, including email, spreadsheets, and lead tracking.
Reliable transportation required.

The ideal candidate is someone who can help grow the business while also making sure programs run smoothly. This person should be outgoing, dependable, organized, and comfortable representing NZone Sports in the community.

This may be a great fit for someone with experience as a:

Youth sports coach or program coordinator

School or PTA volunteer leader
Sales or business development representative
Community outreach coordinator
Recreation program coordinator

College student or graduate with strong leadership and communication skills

Compensation

Compensation may include:

Hourly base pay
Bonus opportunities for booked demos
Bonus opportunities for new school/daycare partnerships
Commission or incentive opportunities tied to new enrollments or program launches

Compensation will be based on experience, availability, and role responsibilities.

Schedule

This is a flexible part-time role with growth potential. Some daytime availability is preferred for school and daycare outreach. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for vendor fairs, PTA events, league days, camps, or community events.
