FlexTrades is seeking a skilled Laser Operator (Tube) to set up and operate Trumpf Fiber Laser equipment in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for laser machine setup, production, quality inspection, troubleshooting, material loading, and part handling while ensuring safe and efficient operation. The ideal candidate has experience operating tube or sheet lasers, performing multiple daily setups, inspecting parts with precision measuring tools, and maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Set up and run Trumpf fiber laser machines to cut tube and sheet metal parts.
- Prepare machines for production, including setup checks and beam alignment.
- Perform a variety of tube cutting processes, such as bevel, straight, and miter cuts, along with notches, slots, tabs, tapping, and etching.
- Load materials into laser machines manually or using automated feeding systems.
- Use a sit-down forklift to load materials into automated feeders when needed.
- Inspect parts for quality and accuracy using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Identify and resolve machine or quality issues, and report concerns when necessary.
- Label finished parts and move materials to the appropriate production areas.
- Maintain production schedules while handling frequent machine changeovers and setups.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean by performing routine housekeeping and machine maintenance.
Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating fiber or CO2 laser cutting equipment
- Ability to perform multiple machine setups in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Experience with tube laser cutting preferred; sheet laser cutting experience accepted
- Ability to read and interpret production documents and work instructions
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for quality inspections
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to laser operations
- Ability to inspect parts and verify dimensional accuracy
- Willingness to operate a sit-down forklift; training provided
- Experience working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality standards
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay: $32/hour
- Guaranteed Overtime Each Week paid at time and a half

- Per diem ($45/day)
