Job Overview

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shop to ensure efficiency, organization, and readiness across all divisions. This role supports field operations by managing equipment, vehicles, inventory, supplies, and shop logistics to ensure crews have the resources needed to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

Assign, distribute, track, and document all tools or equipment leaving the shop.
Assist with field managers to schedule daily and weekly field employees.
Coordination of vehicles and equipment for crews across all divisions.
Working with in-house and external mechanics to schedule maintenance and repairs of company equipment and vehicles.
Inspect vehicles, equipment, and tools daily and complete a post departure inspection sheet, efficiently assess and utilize route planning.
Perform shop administration tasks, such as ordering supplies, delivering project and office paperwork, etc.
Updates repair board and provides support to mechanics to ensure timely repair of all assets. No assets out of service more than 48 hours.
Oversees fuel tanks, and assists in secure fueling of all vehicles.
Inventories salt, fertilizer, job supplies, and other materials for job completion.
Provides necessary support to insure all crews depart by a specific time daily.
Keep a clean and systematically organized shop.
Keeps a clean and organized tool crib with all materials needed to complete jobs.
Keep a clean and systematically organized exterior yard.
Receives, documents, labels, and organizes all deliveries.
Maintains an accurate inventory of all items, which include but are not limited to tools, paper supplies, cleaning products, vehicles, filters, site materials, bulk product, propane, and any additional tracked items.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment, OSHA compliant, for yourself and all other crew members.
Operates power tools, machinery, and equipment at the shop area.
Assists with snow removal during the winter months.
Communicates tool, equipment, and vehicle issues to VPO.
Provides daily vehicle inspection forms to VPO daily.
Partner with reputable repair and maintenance shops in favorable locations.
Utilize project management platform to upload project tasks, keep track of project timelines and reporting to clients.
Review and confirms materials and needs outlined in kick off package are available per the schedule.
Prepares daily manpower, and allocates time to payroll.

Qualifications

Able to lift to 50 pounds.
Able to read maps and follow directions.
Able to stand, kneel, bend, or walk for extended periods.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic Microsoft Office skills.
Analytical mindset and problem solving skills.
Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Previous work experience in transportation industries would be appropriate.
Attention to detail.
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

High School Diploma.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
