Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for:

-Generating 3D Cad data utilizing customer supplied drawings.

-Plan and build processes of manufacturing for all jobs.

-Generating all purchase requests for material, hardware, outsourced processes, and part number stamps.

-Provide support to the shop floor concerning designed process.

-Maintain accurate and organized custodial care of all digital files concerning process.

-Maintain custodial care of the scheduling board.

-Process all job routers in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

· Generate 3D CAD data using prints provided in job packets

· Complete process routing of each job

· Generate shop drawings for use in manufacturing

· Flatten all sheet metal components and generate laser programs

· Design any tooling, weld fixtures, forming gages, machining fixtures and templates

· Generate files to be sent out for waterjet cutting

· Generate all purchase requests for materials, hardware, outsourced processes and part number stamps

· Monitor all jobs through the first piece stage and implement any necessary changes

· Maintain accurate and organized custodial care of all digital files concerning process

· Ensure proper revision levels are observed and followed

· Communicate process to shop floor and assist in its implementation

· Support for sales staff when needed

Qualifications

Proven experience in CAD drafting and mechanical design within sheet metal manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in Solidworks is essential
Ability to read blueprints and a working knowledge of GD&T is required
Knowledge of defense drawings is preferred
Knowledge of Excel and Trutops boost nesting software is a plus
Knowledge of shop routing processes
Mechanical engineering background or equivalent technical education preferred.
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and translate them into precise CAD models.
Excellent attention to detail combined with strong communication skills.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
