Full Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a part-time Digital Media & Content Coordinator to help us reach a new generation of retreatants and program participants through authentic, engaging social media content. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build something meaningful — you will work directly with our Marketing Director and with an outside strategy consultant who will provide platform strategy, analytics oversight, monthly content frameworks, and ongoing training.

You are not walking into a fully built machine. You are someone who likes to build. You will help shape how Manresa shows up digitally, capture the beauty and stillness of our grounds, tell the stories of our community, and grow an audience that genuinely connects with our mission.

This role requires someone who is personally comfortable in a faith-based, contemplative environment — and ideally someone who is already creating content and understands how to speak authentically to a spiritually curious audience.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Social Media

Own day-to-day content creation and publishing across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Shoot short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) on-site at Manresa — grounds, events, seasonal moments, behind-the-scenes
Write captions, hooks, and copy that speak naturally and authentically to a spiritually curious audience ages 35–55
Execute a monthly content calendar built collaboratively with your strategy support
Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster community in the comments and DMs
Help build and manage monthly freebie campaigns (downloadable guides, reflection prompts, etc.) to grow the email list and top-of-funnel reach

Event Coverage

Attend key Manresa events throughout the year to capture content — photo and short-form video
Document the feeling and atmosphere of events, not just the logistics (the details on the tables, people connecting, speakers, outdoor beauty)
Turn event content into post-event social recaps and promotional material for upcoming events

Collaboration & Brand Alignment

Work closely with our Marketing Director, who manages print, website, and newsletter content, to ensure digital content feels aligned with Manresa’s existing brand and voice
Participate in bi-weekly strategy check-ins with our outside marketing consultant
Track basic analytics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and report on what’s working
Contribute ideas for new content series, seasonal campaigns, and community-building initiatives

What Success Looks Like

After 90 days in this role, we’d expect to see:

Consistent, on-brand content publishing across all active platforms (minimum 4–5x per week)
Measurable growth in followers and engagement on Facebook and Instagram
At least one monthly freebie campaign live and driving email list growth
Event content captured and published within 48 hours of each event
A working content rhythm that you own and can sustain independently

What We’re Looking For

Non-negotiables

You are personally comfortable in a Catholic or broadly Christian faith environment — you don’t have to be Jesuit or even Catholic, but you need to understand and respect this world
You are already creating content somewhere — your own account, a previous role, a ministry, a side project. We want to see your work.
You can shoot and edit short-form video on a phone and turn it around quickly
You write well. Captions, hooks, and copy come naturally to you.
You are reliable, self-directed, and don’t need to be micromanaged on execution

Strong fits will also have

A personal connection to faith, spirituality, or contemplative practice — you understand the interior life because you’re living it
Experience growing a social media account or platform from a small base
Comfort with Canva or similar design tools for graphics and guide creation
Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Instagram Insights, or similar analytics tools
Experience with or curiosity about email marketing and lead generation (we will train the right person)
An eye for natural beauty — our grounds are stunning and the right person will feel that immediately

This role is probably NOT a fit if…

You have no personal connection to or comfort with faith-based environments
You only have experience with corporate or e-commerce content and aren’t sure how to translate that to a contemplative, mission-driven organization
You need a fully built system handed to you on day one — we are building this together
You are primarily a graphic designer or a writer but not a video creator — video is the core of this role

Our Environment

Manresa sits on 39 acres of wooded grounds in Bloomfield Hills. It is a quiet, reflective place. People come here to slow down. The team here is small, warm, mission-driven, and deeply committed to the work. You will be the youngest person on staff, which is part of why this role matters — we need someone who understands how a new generation finds, evaluates, and connects with an organization like ours.

You will work hybrid — some of your content creation and planning work can be done remotely, but you will be on-site regularly for content capture and you will be present at key events throughout the year. We are flexible with scheduling and genuinely value your life outside of this role.
