Full Job Description

A family-owned, well-established automotive group is currently seeking an experienced Office Manager for an expanding import Dealership in Warren, Michigan to lead and oversee all accounting work and office personnel. The position requires previous experience working in a dealership as an Office/Accounting Manager. Import manufacturer experience is a must!

Responsibilities:

· Manage accounting functions for the dealership to ensure effective, accurate, and timely reporting of financial information including monthly financial statements and various reports.

· Manage and review account detail, schedules, journals, trial balance, general ledgers, financial statements, daily operating reports, and monthly recap documents on a regular basis to identify issues, errors, or irregularities.

· Fix or report any issues, errors, or irregularities on a timely basis.

· Oversee the financial condition of the overall dealership.

· Work closely with other department managers to obtain the best financial results in all departments. Provide department managers with detailed financial and management reports.

· Review Account Reconciliations (bank, floor plan, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.).

· Ensure proper internal accounting controls are in place for the proper conduct of the business.

· Observe rules of confidentiality as they relate to employee and customer information, both internally and in dealing with outside individuals and vendors.

· Effectively set priorities and monitor work assignments delegated to team members. Provide on-the-job training and cross training for team members.

· Oversee all weekly and monthly payrolls including all tax filings, financial records, and personnel records. Oversee benefits and insurance programs for all dealership employees.

· Excellent daily cash management abilities.

· Forecasting and budgeting for all departments.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable government finance regulations, including filing and/or maintaining of required licenses, forms, payroll taxes and deposits, income taxes, retirement plan records, etc.

Qualifications:

· Prior dealership experience working as an Office/Accounting Manager.

· Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.

· Import manufacturer experience a must.

· Proficiency with CDK dealership software.

· Proficient computer skills (DMS, Excel, Word).

· Previous payroll and accounts payable experience.

· Strong communications, customer service, leadership, and organizational skills.

· High level of accuracy and analytical ability.

· Previous experience in Human Resources preferred.

· Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations is an asset.
