Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead and oversee our clinical laboratory operations. This pivotal role involves managing laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining the highest quality of laboratory testing and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in medical laboratory work, strong leadership skills, and a passion for advancing clinical research and diagnostics. Join us to drive excellence in laboratory management, support innovative research initiatives, and contribute to improved patient outcomes through precise and reliable testing.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily laboratory activities, including specimen collection, processing, and analysis, ensuring adherence to CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations and other regulatory standards.
Oversee the operation of laboratory equipment such as ELISA readers, PCR machines, flow cytometers, and blood banking instruments, maintaining optimal functionality.
Manage laboratory information systems (LIS) and document management systems to ensure accurate data collection, storage, and retrieval.
Implement quality control (QC) procedures and quality assurance (QA) protocols to uphold the integrity of all laboratory tests and assays.
Lead a team of laboratory technicians and scientists by providing training, supervision, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols including aseptic techniques, blood sampling procedures, venipuncture practices, and specimen handling standards.
Coordinate with clinical staff on sample collection schedules, blood banking activities, and clinical trial support to facilitate seamless operations.
Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, test results, equipment maintenance logs, and regulatory documentation for audit readiness.
Support research initiatives by managing assay development projects such as immunoassays, DNA/RNA extraction protocols, PCR assays, and other molecular techniques.
Monitor inventory levels of reagents and supplies; manage procurement processes to ensure uninterrupted laboratory workflow.

Skills

Extensive experience with clinical chemistry, hematology, immunoassays, molecular biology techniques (including DNA isolation and RNA extraction), flow cytometry, and blood banking procedures.
Proficiency in operating medical laboratory equipment such as ELISA readers, PCR machines, centrifuges, microscopes, and blood analyzers.
Strong knowledge of CLIA regulations, laboratory compliance management, quality control/assurance practices, and safety standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising medical laboratory personnel in hospital or research settings.
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), document management systems, and data collection tools for accurate record keeping.
Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately while maintaining clear documentation of all procedures performed.
Excellent organizational skills for schedule management; adept at coordinating multiple projects within tight deadlines.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to clinical testing processes; understanding of vital signs measurement and aseptic techniques.
Proven ability to manage laboratory operations efficiently while ensuring high-quality results that meet regulatory standards.
