Full Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Maintains accountability for coordinating the care of trauma patients in order to ensure an organized, multidisciplinary approach for management of quality patient care both internally and externally in a trauma care system consistent with the criteria outlined in the most current edition of the American College Surgeons (ACS) Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelors Degree in nursing. Masters Degree in nursing, business or related field preferred.
Current MI RN license required.
Minimum of five years nursing experience in the care of trauma patients.
Advanced skills in critical care nursing required.
Pertinent certifications related to the care of trauma patients strongly preferred (TNCC, ENPC, ATCN, etc).
Management experience with background in budget oversight strongly recommended.
A high level of interpersonal skills required in order to coordinate care provided by multiple services.
Visual, hearing and verbal abilities required in order to provide patient care, instruct personnel, and maintain records.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions.
Prolonged periods of mental concentration.
Analytical ability required in order to evaluate the quality of care provided to trauma patients.
Ability to maintain flexible working hours required.
