Position Summary:

Your role as the Client Experience Associate is creating a welcoming, inclusive, and positive experience for every guest who walks through our doors. You will help support daily shop operations by maintaining a clean, organized environment, and help to ensure each visitor receives a thoughtful and personal experience.

If you are someone who is reliable, loves working with people and building connections, and you are excited to learn new things, this role will be perfect for you. No opticianry experience? No problem! We’re happy to train the right person who brings a positive attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to grow. As part of a growing boutique business, this role offers hands-on exposure into the opticianry field. For those interested in opticianry, you will learn directly from one of Detroit’s eleven ABO certified opticians with years of experience in the field and will have opportunities for continued development and expanded responsibilities over time.

What You’ll Do:

Welcome every guest with warmth and positivity, creating a friendly, inclusive atmosphere that reflects the shop’s community-centered spirit.
Create memorable client experiences by being attentive, helpful, and making every visitor feel valued while they’re in the shop.
Help clients explore frames and products, answering basic questions and guiding them to the perfect fit—while looping in the optician for more detailed questions.
Keep the space looking its best by maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment throughout the day.
Build genuine connections with clients, creating positive interactions that keep people excited to return.
Support daily shop operations, including check-ins, administrative tasks, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Keep displays fresh and beautiful by straightening frames, organizing displays, and making sure everything is in the right place.
Assist with inventory tasks, like unpacking new shipments and restocking displays so clients always have great options to explore.
Work as part of a small and supportive team, escalating client concerns or questions to the optician when needed.

Who You Are:

Someone who brings a great attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn (prior customer service experience is a bonus, but not required)
A true “people person” who enjoys connecting with others and making customers feel welcome.
Friendly, upbeat, and positive—you help create a fun and welcoming environment for everyone who walks in.
A natural multitasker who can keep things organized and champion multiple tasks at once.
Reliable—you show up, follow through on responsibilities, and ensure tasks are completed on time.
An interest in the field of opticianry is a plus!
