Full Job Description

PsyGenics Inc is a leading behavioral health care agency providing community service to vulnerable children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or serious mental health issues in Wayne County. We are seeking talented, mission driven Master level social workers, counselors and psychologists - LMSWs, LLMSWs, LPCs, LLPC's, LLP's and TLLP's.

Qualifications

Must possess a master’s degree in social or behavioral health, be fully licensed* in the State of Michigan in good standing as well as meet the criteria for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional and Qualified Mental Health Professional. Person must have police and DHS clearance. Must have a minimum of one-year post graduate experience working with children and adults with Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Illness or persons with a Traumatic Brain Injury. Additional requirements include: working knowledge of the DSM-V or current manual, a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families, the ability to engage and maintain clinical relationships with families, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other providers, effective interpersonal communication skills, the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative. Must demonstrate experience in clinical assessment, have excellent writing skills, and preference for at least 1 year of experience working in community mental health.

Position Summary

The Assessment Specialist is responsible for completion of annual clinical assessments and intakes for new cases. Upon assessment, initial referrals are made to all appropriate internal programs. Demonstrated ability to complete all intake documentation thoroughly including but not limited to consents for treatment, releases of information, biopsychosocial assessments and preliminary plans. Timely and skillful handoff to the Case Manager is required to ensure development of a Person-Centered Plan. As a secondary function, this position provides case management coverage to support during a period of staff leave.

Specific Responsibilities

Provides an overview of PsyGenics and the services offered internally and externally to new members
Maintains current information regarding both internal and external services and resources
Explains and obtains consents for treatment, financial determination and other intake documents to members and families
Completes a thorough biopsychosocial assessment based on sound clinical rationale
Assists non-master’s level staff with completion of annual biopsychosocial assessments
Develops a preliminary treatment plan based on the needs identified in the biopsychosocial assessment
Refers and schedules new intakes with internal services including but not limited to Case Management, Psychiatrist, Link to Wellness, and other appropriate disciplines
Completes an intended beneficiary survey with new members after the intake process
Provides resources as appropriate
Completes all documentation in the Electronic Medical Record system within 24 hours
Maintains updated calendar in the Electronic Medical Record daily
Maintains at least 50% productivity (i.e., face to face contact)
Collaborates with Clinical Supervisor and other team members
Must be knowledgeable in the Mental Health Code and Medicaid guidelines as well as billing protocols and procedures
Participates in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultation
As appropriate, obtain all prior authorizations and applicable coordination of care
Provides temporary gap coverage in the absence of primary case holder including completion of treatment planning, coordination of services, and referrals.
Follow PsyGenics, Inc. professional code of conduct
Represent PsyGenics, Inc. in the community
Abide by all regulations of licensure; expectations of contract with insurance provider; local, state and federal laws; and CARF accreditation standards
Perform similar or related duties as assigned

*Limited Licensed professionals may also function in this role with the understanding that they must maintain ongoing supervision until such time as they receive full licensure. If appropriately licensed staff are available and able, PsyGenics will assist with supervision. In lieu of in-house supervision, Limited Licensed professionals may also choose to provide documentation of ongoing outside supervision on a quarterly basis until such time as they receive full licensure

This is a full-time, onsite position. LMSW, LLMSW, is preferred; LLPC or LPC, LLP or TLLP considered. Salary commensurate with licensure and experience.
