What You’ll Do
- As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the face of FläktGroup SEMCO at customer sites throughout the country.
Responsibilities Include:
- Commissioning and startup of commercial HVAC equipment
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Conducting warranty service and repair work
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Performing root cause analysis and driving issues to resolution
- Training customers and site personnel on equipment operation
- Completing service documentation and reports
- Working safely while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction
This position requires approximately 90% travel, primarily Monday through Friday. Candidates should reside within reasonable distance of a major airport. (e.g. Atlanta, DFW, Chicago, Austin, Lynchburg VA, and Charlotte NC)
What We're Looking For
- Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC or electromechanical equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in the field
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and perform physically demanding work
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States
- EPA Safe Refrigerant Handling compliance when applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of HVAC/R service experience
- Associate’s degree in HVAC or related field
- Experience with PLC / controls / DDC systems (preferred)
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, or commissioning projects
- Technical school, trade school, or industry certifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
