POSITION OVERVIEW
At AC Infinity, we're building a smarter, more data-driven supply chain to support our rapidly growing business across Amazon, e-commerce, and omnichannel sales. We're looking for an analytical and strategic Demand & Inventory Planning Manager who enjoys turning complex data into smarter business decisions and solving supply chain challenges before they happen. If you're passionate about improving forecast accuracy, optimizing inventory, and building scalable planning systems that directly influence company performance, you'll play a key role in ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time while supporting our continued growth.
This position will be responsible for developing and managing accurate demand forecasts, inventory plans, replenishment recommendations, and production requirements across all sales channels. The successful candidate will ensure the company maintains sufficient inventory to support customer demand while minimizing excess inventory, unnecessary storage costs, inventory aging, and working-capital requirements.
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of demand forecasting, inventory optimization, supply-chain planning software, statistical forecasting methods, and multi-channel inventory management. This person must be able to account for seasonality, promotions, product launches, channel growth, supplier production time, ocean and domestic transit time, receiving delays, Amazon FBA replenishment requirements, and variability in both demand and supply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Demand Forecasting
· Develop rolling SKU-level demand forecasts by week, month, sales channel, and inventory location.
· Forecast demand for Amazon FBA, the AC Infinity website, dealers, distributors, marketplaces, and other sales channels.
· Identify and model seasonal demand patterns, promotional effects, sales trends, channel shifts, product life cycles, and abnormal historical events.
· Develop forecasting approaches for established products, rapidly growing products, intermittent-demand items, and new product launches.
· Separate true customer demand from sales constrained by prior stockouts.
· Create baseline forecasts and document justified manual adjustments made for promotions, pricing changes, marketing campaigns, product launches, competitive events, or other business information.
· Measure forecast accuracy and forecast bias at the SKU, product-family, channel, and company levels.
Inventory and Replenishment Planning
· Establish SKU-level safety-stock, reorder-point, minimum-stock, maximum-stock, and target inventory policies.
· Calculate replenishment requirements based on demand variability, supplier lead times, production times, transit times, receiving times, service-level targets, and existing purchase orders.
· Prepare recommended purchase orders and production quantities using defined inventory policies and forecasted demand.
· Maintain a complete projected inventory position that includes:
- Inventory on hand
- Inventory committed to customer orders
- Inventory at Amazon FBA
- Inventory at warehouses and third-party logistics providers
- Goods in production
- Goods in transit
- Open purchase orders
- Planned transfers and replenishments
· Identify future stockout risks early enough for the company to adjust production, transportation, allocation, pricing, or promotional plans.
· Recommend expedited transportation, delayed purchases, inventory transfers, or channel allocation changes when appropriate.
· Balance product availability against excess inventory, storage fees, aging inventory, and working-capital requirements.
Amazon FBA and Channel Allocation
· Develop Amazon FBA replenishment plans based on sales velocity, inbound processing time, shipment transit time, Amazon capacity limitations, seasonal demand, and targeted weeks of cover.
· Determine how available inventory should be allocated among Amazon FBA, the company website, dealers, distributors, and other channels.
· Monitor channel-specific stockout exposure and prevent one channel’s inventory requirements from creating unnecessary shortages elsewhere.
· Reconcile differences among ERP inventory, warehouse inventory, Amazon inventory, open orders, and goods in transit.
Production and Supply Planning
· Translate demand forecasts into finished goods production requirements and component or material requirements where applicable.
· Maintain accurate supplier lead-time assumptions, production capacities, minimum order quantities, order multiples, transit schedules, and receiving timelines.
· Work closely with purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, sales, marketing, finance, and product-development teams.
· Identify supply constraints and recommend production priorities when demand exceeds available capacity.
· Conduct scenario planning for demand increases, supplier delays, transportation disruptions, major promotions, and product launches.
Systems and Analytics
· Lead the selection, implementation, configuration, and ongoing improvement of inventory-planning and demand-forecasting tools.
· Integrate planning data from the company’s ERP, Amazon Seller Central, website, warehouses, purchasing systems, sales reports, and other relevant sources.
· Build automated dashboards and exception reports that identify stockout risks, excess inventory, forecast deviations, delayed purchase orders, and data-quality issues.
· Improve master-data accuracy for lead times, minimum order quantities, product hierarchies, inventory locations, supplier information, and product status.
· Reduce dependence on manually maintained spreadsheets by developing scalable, controlled planning processes.
Required Technical Knowledge
The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of:
· Time-series forecasting
· Moving averages and weighted moving averages
· Exponential smoothing and Holt-Winters seasonal forecasting
· ARIMA and seasonal ARIMA models
· Regression and causal forecasting
· Intermittent-demand forecasting methods such as Croston-type models
· Forecast model selection and backtesting
· Forecast bias, WAPE, MAE, RMSE and related accuracy measurements
· Safety-stock calculations
· Reorder-point planning
· Service-level and fill-rate planning
· ABC and XYZ inventory segmentation
· Economic order quantity
· Min/max and periodic-review inventory policies
· Days-of-supply and weeks-of-cover calculations
· Lead-time variability and demand-during-lead-time calculations
· Production and material requirements planning
· Scenario and sensitivity analysis
· Inventory allocation across multiple channels and locations
The candidate must understand when statistical models should be used, how model performance should be evaluated, and when business judgment should override a system-generated forecast.
Software and Data Skills
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, data models, and scenario analysis
· Experience with an ERP or inventory-management platform such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Cin7, or a comparable system
· Experience with dedicated forecasting or supply-chain planning software
· Experience integrating Amazon, e-commerce, ERP, warehouse, purchasing, and logistics data
· Strong SQL skills
· Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting tools
· Python, R, or other statistical programming experience is preferred
· Ability to evaluate and implement new demand-planning or inventory-optimization software
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in supply-chain management, operations, industrial engineering, statistics, mathematics, business analytics, economics, or a related field
· At least five years of experience in demand planning, inventory planning, supply planning, replenishment planning, or a closely related position
· Demonstrated experience managing a substantial SKU portfolio across multiple sales channels
· Experience with imported products and long or variable supplier lead times
· Experience with Amazon FBA or a comparable marketplace fulfillment network
· Demonstrated history of improving product availability, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, or working-capital performance
· Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
· APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification
· IBF Certified Professional Forecaster or related forecasting certification
· Experience with consumer products, durable goods, electronics, appliances, HVAC products, or another seasonal product category
