Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in managing financial records and ensuring accurate payroll processing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse accounting systems and software, supporting both operational efficiency and compliance. You'll be at the forefront of maintaining precise financial data, reconciling accounts, and processing payroll for our organization, all while adhering to accounting standards and best practices. Responsibilities

Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy through detailed account reconciliation and journal entries.
Process payroll accurately and timely using payroll software, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, expense tracking, and vendor payments.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts regularly to ensure consistency across all records.
Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Utilize various accounting software including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems to record transactions and generate reports.
Conduct audits of financial data, perform account analysis, and support budgeting processes to facilitate sound financial decision-making.

Requirements

Proven experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and general ledger accounting within a corporate or non-profit environment.
Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
Knowledge of GAAP standards, governmental accounting practices (if applicable), and double entry bookkeeping principles.
Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations with precision.
Familiarity with payroll systems and tax regulations related to payroll processing; experience with tax reporting is a plus.
Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or similar), including 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.
Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, account reconciliation, account analysis, and budgeting processes.
Exceptional attention to detail combined with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
