1099/Contract-Based, Part-Time

Overview
Join our dedicated team as an Early Intervention Special Instructor and Developmental Therapist, where your passion for supporting young children and their families will make a meaningful difference. In this vital role, you will deliver specialized early intervention services designed to promote developmental growth and enhance communication, social, and motor skills for children with developmental delays or established special needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to foster positive outcomes during the critical early years of a child's life. Your energy, compassion, and expertise will help lay the foundation for lifelong success.

Join our team and have a flexible schedule and autonomy over the size of your caseload. Caseloads build organically through family choice, so you can be confident in a great fit and connection with the families you serve.

Responsibilities

Implement individualized intervention plans tailored to each child's unique developmental needs in home or community settings (typically serving each family for approx. 1 hour, 1-2 times weekly)
Engage children through play-based activities that promote communication, social interaction, and motor development
Collaborate with families and caregivers to educate and empower them with strategies to support ongoing progress at home
Document progress, challenges, and observations accurately to inform ongoing treatment planning
Coordinate with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and pediatricians to ensure comprehensive care
Attend IFSP and provider meetings
Collect data to monitor developmental milestones and adjust interventions accordingly
Maintain professional boundaries while building trusting relationships with children and their families
Complete required annual early intervention-related trainings and professional development

Experience

Prior experience working with young children in early childhood education, therapy, or related settings is highly valued
University experience in fields such as Early Childhood Education, Developmental Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or related disciplines is preferred
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams
Ability to adapt interventions based on individual child needs and family circumstances
Passion for early childhood development and commitment to fostering positive growth in diverse populations

Requirements:

B.A in Early Childhood or Special Education, BA in Psychology, Birth-Kindergarten Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, Counseling, Human Development, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or another human services field
Ability to pass Federal and State background checks
Driver's License with valid insurance and reliable transportation
Organization skills
Reliability and responsiveness

Caseloads build organically and relationally through family choice as they are presented with provider/therapist biographies. Families choose the provider they believe will be the best fit for their needs. Caseloads building in this way supports provider-family connection. Providers/therapists commonly hold caseloads ranging from 3-25 families, dependent upon therapist desired caseload size and family choice. Does the gradual building of a caseload and part-time nature work for your needs at this time?
The educational requirements for credentialing are such that therapists/providers must have at least a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: B.A in Early Childhood or Special Education, BA in Psychology, Birth-Kindergarten Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, Counseling, Human Development, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or another human services field

This is an independent contractor (1099) role. The role has a starting rate of $30 per therapy hour, commensurate with education and experience. Is this role type and starting pay rate acceptable for you?
