Job Title: Vice President of Sales and Merchandising

Department: Sales

Reports to: Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Production Planning Job Summary:

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for driving the strategic vision and tactical execution of the sales department in alignment with the company's goals. This role involves leading a high-performing sales team, establishing ambitious sales targets, expanding market share, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. The VP of Sales will be a key member of the executive team, providing leadership and direction to ensure the achievement of revenue objectives in the women's apparel industry. The role requires a keen understanding and appreciation of the company's corporate culture, brand aesthetics, and the visual appeal of its women's clothing designs.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

1. Sales Strategy Development:

o Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.

o Identify new market opportunities and innovative sales approaches to drive growth and profitability.

o Create and oversee sales plans, including forecasting, budgeting, and resource

allocation.

2. Market Expansion:

o Lead efforts to expand the company's presence in existing markets and enter new markets.

o Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify

growth opportunities.

3. Revenue Generation:

o Set ambitious sales targets and drive the team to achieve and exceed them.

o Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure revenue goals are met.

o Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective sales campaigns and

promotional activities that align with the brand's aesthetic.

Team Leadership and Development:

1. Team Management:

o Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

o Recruit, train, and retain sales talent, ensuring the team has the skills and

resources needed to succeed.

o Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback to drive continuous improvement.

o Promote a team environment that reflects the company's values and commitment to excellence in design and aesthetics.

2. Collaboration and Communication:

o Maintain strong collaboration between the sales team and other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service.

o Communicate the company's sales vision and objectives clearly to the team and ensure alignment with overall business goals and brand values.

o Serve as a key liaison between the sales team and the executive leadership, providing regular updates on sales performance and market trends.

Customer Relationship Management:

1. Client Acquisition and Retention:

o Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.

o Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.

o Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, ensuring long-term relationships and reflecting the brand's commitment to quality and visual appeal.

2. Sales Negotiations:

o Lead high-stakes negotiations with major clients and partners, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.

o Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the sales process, maintaining the integrity of the brand's aesthetics.

Operational Excellence:

1. Sales Operations:

o Oversee the development and implementation of effective sales processes.

o Ensure the sales team adheres to best practices and follows established procedures.

o Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

2. Reporting:

o Prepare and present detailed reports on sales performance, market trends, and other key metrics to the executive leadership team.

Qualifications:

Education:

o Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.

MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

o Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the women's apparel industry.

o Proven track record of driving sales growth and leading high-performing sales teams.

Skills:

o Strong leadership and team management skills.

o Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

o Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

o Proficiency in data analysis and sales forecasting.

o Familiarity with CRM systems and sales automation tools.
