Job Summary
Works with Enrollment Management and Services (EMS) and University constituents to impact undergraduate international student enrollment through a timely course equivalency process. Completes course equivalencies for international transfer courses and/or exams applicable to the University Core Curriculum (UCC). Liaises with discipline faculty and academic advisors as appropriate. Supports internal constituents as they develop articulation agreements with international institutions and organizations when these include course equivalencies applicable to the UCC. Uses multiple channels to communicate with students on course equivalency matters, while offering key resources and referrals to key units within and outside EMS.

Collaborates with constituents from Enrollment Management & Services and Academic Planning & Accountability. Provides credit articulation support and course evaluation guidance for internal constituents (and their consultants) as they establish articulation agreements and MOU's.

Responds to student admissions questions via multiple channels (in- person meetings, chat, case management, emails, etc.) as these relate to course equivalencies, transfer credit policy, transfer admission requirements, and UCC requirements.

Assists prospective international transferring students during the initial phases of the course equivalency process (may include referrals to appropriate campus resources).

Collaborates with faculty and advisors across the University. Ensures the transfer equivalency process is transparent, consistent, and fair.

Ensures an efficient assessment of course equivalencies. Works proactively with coaches and prospective international student athletes to obtain required documentation for admissions and credit evaluation.

Reviews transfer equivalency rules and obtains required documentation from students and sending institutions.

Conducts research on student case files using archived records when necessary.

Collaborates with international admission recruiters to understand and support international enrollment goals; may include international travel for proactive gathering of course content, catalogs, curricular maps, etc.

Assists in outreach efforts including internal admissions events, virtual/physical workshops, and (when necessary) fairs.

Maintains confidential records, ensuring that ethical and legal guidelines (FERPA) are followed.

Specializes in international transfer course equivalencies and supports other Transfer and Transition Services activities.

Collaborates with Office of Regional and World locations and Academic Planning and Accountability in securing international agreements.

Reviews and evaluates international academic records such as course descriptions, syllabi, and plans of study, utilizing Spanish-language proficiency when needed to determine credit equivalencies and ensure accurate credit awards.

Serves on task forces, working groups, and committees, as assigned.

Performs other related duties as assign or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Master's degree and 2 years of experience in academic advising or student services experience within higher education; OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years in academic advising or student services experience within higher education.
Desired Qualifications
-
Knowledge of non-US education systems, non-US academic credentials evaluation procedures and the ability to perform non-US academic credential evaluation.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking), with a strong emphasis on reading comprehension to accurately evaluate international academic documents and syllabi, alongside the ability to effectively communicate processes to prospective students.

Experience with academic advising, transfer credit evaluations and degree audit.

Experience working with data or student management systems.
