Controller Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee the company’s accounting and financial reporting processes. The Controller will play a key leadership role in ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and implementing effective financial controls and procedures. This individual will also lead a team of finance and accounting professionals, providing strategic insights, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring operational efficiency across financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
· Develop, document, and implement financial reporting standards and procedures in compliance with GAAP.
· Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow projections, with accompanying notes.
· Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for internal stakeholders, lending partners and external auditors.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
· Lead the annual budgeting process and forecasting, collaborating with other departments, to provide critical financial data for decision-making.
· Track financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis to management.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
· Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
· Ensure compliance with all tax laws, financial regulations, and auditing requirements.
· Supervise all audit and tax engagements, ensuring the preparation and submission of all necessary documentation and schedules.
· Maintain oversight of lender reporting and ensure compliance with debt covenants and financial concentration ratios.
Cash Flow Management:
· Prepare weekly cash forecasts to support capital calls for acquisitions and ensure effective cash management.
· Work closely with the CFO to manage and oversee the deployment of capital for acquisitions
Cross Department Collaboration & Reporting:
· Establish and maintain comprehensive sales reporting mechanisms, including monthly and weekly scorecards to drive accountability and business performance.
· Collaborate with other departments to support company-wide financial goals and objectives.
Financial and Sales Analysis and Strategy:
· Conduct financial and sales analysis to support business decisions.
· Provide strategic insights to senior leadership based on financial data, identifying areas for improvement or opportunity.
Team Leadership:
· Manage and mentor a team of accounting and finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and development to foster a high-performing team.
· Review and approve work to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the finance department.
System and Process Improvement:
· Oversee the implementation of new accounting software or upgrades to improve efficiency.
· Implement and oversee operational policies and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial operations.
· Evaluate and approve all changes to procedures, systems, and routines to maintain strong internal controls.
Expense Management & Reimbursement:
· Implement and manage the expense reimbursement tool, Concur, to enhance visibility and control over employee expenses.
Deal Review & Accuracy:
· Review all deal documentation, including pricing, costs, and deal structure, to ensure alignment with approved terms before funding.
· Ensure that financial terms and structures are accurate and consistent with internal approvals, mitigating risks prior to deal execution.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
· At least 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a significant portion of that time in a managerial role.
· Experience in preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and performing financial analysis.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
