Nurse Manager – Emergency Department - TRAUMA CENTER

Lead one of the busiest and most advanced Emergency Departments. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to make a meaningful impact while overseeing a high-performing team in a nationally recognized healthcare organization. 100-bed Emergency Department
Approximately 350 patient visits per day
Trauma Center
Team of approximately 200 FTEs
Collaborative leadership structure with 4 Nurse Managers

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department, you will provide operational and clinical leadership for one of the region's highest-acuity emergency departments. You will foster a culture of excellence by empowering your team, driving quality outcomes, ensuring exceptional patient care, and supporting professional growth.

This role partners closely with nursing and hospital leadership to improve operations, implement evidence-based practices, and ensure regulatory compliance while balancing quality, patient experience, staff engagement, and financial performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the daily operations of a designated Emergency Department unit
Promote safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care
Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff while fostering a positive team culture
Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and professional development of team members
Collaborate with interdisciplinary and executive leadership on strategic initiatives
Drive quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional nursing standards
Manage staffing, budgeting, and operational performance to achieve departmental goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

BSN or equivalent (ADN with MSN or BA with MSN accepted)
Current BLS certification
Minimum of 5 years of recent nursing experience
At least 2 years of acute care hospital experience with demonstrated leadership
Previous leadership or management experience

PREFERRED:

Master's Degree in Nursing
