Description:

At Corvant, we provide specialty HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical services to mission-critical commercial and industrial environments. Our teams support essential facilities across data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, and education.

We deliver end-to-end solutions across the facility lifecycle, including design, prefabrication, installation, controls integration, and ongoing service. As one of the fastest-growing platforms in our space, we are focused on operational excellence, technical expertise, and building a high-performing team.

The Estimator I is responsible for preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

Requirements:

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)

Resolve all pricing options and target the appropriate price for the project.
Identify areas for training with estimators and interns.
Gather information from local government and private entities that may affect the project (i.e., permits, hearings, etc.).
Assist in leading the addendum log and documents from customers/clients.
Complete quantity takeoffs and summations of materials.
Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets.
Provide assistance with data input into estimating software program(s).
Build Project Estimates.
Prepare, organize, and coordinate Request for Proposal documents.
Prepare and coordinate schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate General Contractor’s and other scheduled items.
Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed.
Solicit new bidders when needed and obtain necessary documents for inclusion in future projects.
Capture historical cost data and perform archive filing.
Assists in providing details for order entry, drafting, production, and layout of orders received.
Corresponds and contacts sales reps to obtain missing info, recommends change or substitution to improve cost, delivery, or product.
Interprets customer requirements and prepares and revises quotations based upon takeoffs, emails, and specifications.
Interacts with sales reps and internal personnel to provide accurate bidding.
Works from emails, takeoffs, drawings, bid forms, verbal and written requests to prepare quotes.
Reports directly to the department supervisor.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Provides technical product support to designers and customers as related to the quotes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Ability to break down construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to professionally communicate the basis for individual work product when in a highly fast-paced environment.
Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be willing to travel as needed.
Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED Required. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Administration preferred.
Minimum 1 to 2 years of estimating experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Required to stand, walk, and sit.
Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
Use hand (s) and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
Reach with hand (s) and arm (s).
Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds.
