Payroll Administrator / HR Generalist
Overview
We're looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and people-focused Part-time Payroll Administrator/HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you'll be responsible for processing weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll while supporting a variety of HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle.
This position combines payroll administration with hands-on HR support, including onboarding, employee records management, compliance, and employee relations. The ideal candidate enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with opportunities to improve processes and provide excellent customer service to employees.
Essential Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process accurate and timely weekly payroll.
- Review and audit timecards, PTO balances, commission statements, and payroll reports.
- Maintain payroll records, including salary changes, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, loan repayments, and other payroll adjustments.
- Ensure payroll tax compliance and accurate recordkeeping.
- Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve payroll-related issues.
Human Resources
- Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding process.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for applicants during the hiring process, providing guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Schedule pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.
- Initiate and maintain employee onboarding in the Paycor HRIS.
- Conduct new hire orientations monthly and as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification requirements.
- Track employee milestones, including benefits eligibility, 401(k) enrollment, training, bonuses, and other key employment events.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files.
- Perform HR data entry, filing, scanning, and document management.
- Prepare employment documents, including offer letters, employment verifications, and separation documentation.
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers.
- Collaborate with vendors, management, and internal departments to support HR initiatives.
- Assist the HR Manager with special projects and other HR responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources and payroll administration.
- Demonstrated experience handling confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience using an HRIS/payroll system (Paycor experience preferred).
- Knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and HR compliance preferred.
