The Pediatric Clinical Social Worker provides developmentally appropriate mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to children and adolescents using play-based, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming based strategies. The therapist works collaboratively with families, schools, and Reach’s interdisciplinary team of Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, and mental health clinicians, to support emotional, behavioral, and social development. This role requires experience working with pediatrics, with a NH license preferred, or license eligible. The social worker will adhere to Reach’s mission of providing services through clinical approaches that meet children where they’re at and strive for connection over compliance.

Clients: We provide mental health services for children ages up to age 21.
Setting: Therapists are provided with state-of-the-art therapy equipment and supplies in our 5,000 square foot clinic space that includes large sensory integration rooms, and quiet therapy rooms, Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate in sessions and teletherapy is always an option. We offer many specialty programs which include aquatic therapy and hippotherapy.
Schedule: The clinic schedule is a year-round program. Full time is considered 30-40 hours per week, with flexibility and work-life balance valued by the organization. All full-time therapists have at least 4-5 hours of built-in documentation time scheduled to complete evaluations and documentation weekly. All therapists have the ability to participate in weekly team time activities and case-care collaboration, where the whole team is available simultaneously. Must be available to work until 6:00pm one-two nights per week.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for children and adolescents
- Diagnosing mental health conditions in accordance with DSM-5 & DM-ID-2 criteria; with heavy emphasis on importance of differential diagnosis and clinical and systemic understanding regarding diagnostic overshadowing and stigma
- Provide individual and family-centered care, using child-led, play therapy
- Utilize evidence-based approaches, adapted for pediatric populations with a wide range of neurodivergence, mental health needs, and disability
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed
- Complete all evaluation reports, plan of cares, daily notes and any other paperwork necessary I the treatment of children within 3-5 business days as outlined in Clinical Staff Expectations and Guidelines
- Ensure accuracy and medical necessity in all medical documentation
- Develop competency in the Electric Medical Record System
- Maintain and updated CAQH as needed
- Make and receive phone calls related to patient care with families and all appropriate resources
- Any other responsibilities necessary to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the clinic
- Provide strength-based 1:1 direct care to patient’s birth – 21 years of age, regularly scheduling 30-32 hours weekly (depending on licensure needs), with 4 hours of documentation time, 2 hours paid lunch, 1 hour paid Team Time, with remaining time utilized to balance the needs of the clinic
- Participate in specialty programming as desired: hippotherapy, aquatics therapy, outdoor therapy, group therapies, sensory gardening, and more; with additional training provided
Family & Systems Collaboration
- Engage parents and caregivers through psychoeducation, consultation, and family sessions
- Collaborate with schools, pediatricians, psychiatrists, and other service providers
- Participate in care coordination
- Advocate for clients’ emotional and developmental needs within complex systems of care
- Experience with and/or desire to engage with macro level practice
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
- Ensure adherence to social work ethical standards, confidentiality laws, and agency policies
- Participate in supervision, consultation, and ongoing professional development within scope of practice
Skills & Competencies

Minor Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist with scheduling support as needed for self and team.
· Assisting in the cleanliness of the clinic and administrative space.
· Any other responsibilities necessary to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the clinic.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Social Work
- NH License (LICSW) preferred, or license eligible
- Maintain CEUs and requirements to ethically uphold licensure requirements
- At least 6 months to 1 year of pediatric OT experience (waived on a case-by-case basis)
- CPR Certification
