Full Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trust Administration Attorney to join our estate planning and probate practice on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position within six months based on performance and firm needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience administering trusts and estates, excellent client communication skills, and a commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality legal services.

Responsibilities

Manage trust administration matters from inception through final distribution.
Advise trustees regarding fiduciary duties and trust administration procedures.
Prepare trust administration documents, accountings, and related correspondence.
Communicate with beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, and other professionals.
Review trust assets and assist with funding, transfers, and distributions.
Coordinate tax-related matters with CPAs and financial advisors.
Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with deadlines.
Provide exceptional client service while working collaboratively with attorneys and staff.
Handle probate cases with occasional probate court appearances in Cook County.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar.
2+ years of experience in trust administration, probate, or estate planning required.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
Experience with estate planning and probate software is a plus.

Schedule

Part-time: Approximately 20–30 hours per week (flexible schedule).
Growth Opportunity: Position is expected to transition to a full-time role within approximately six months based on mutual agreement and firm needs.
