Senior Accountant - A/P, A/R & Credit

Senior Accountant - A/P, A/R & Credit Details:

Contract to Hire position
$65.00 to $75.00 /hour
First Shift

Own the customer and vendor cycles.
Oversee AR aging, collections activity and escalations, AR current-percentage reporting, and approximately 275 monthly customer calls involving collections and inbound account questions.
Conduct credit reviews, recommend credit limits, administer credit holds and refer-to-credit status, and make order-release decisions for credit-restricted customers.
Handle customer account reconciliations, credits and rebills, refunds, statements, finance charges, unapplied cash allocation, returned payments, and lien waivers.
Manage vendor setup and maintenance, vendor statement reconciliations, missing-invoice research, discrepancy resolution, AMEX and corporate card reconciliations, and sales tax exemption certificate administration.
Research and resolve approximately 105 supplier invoices per month that fail automated matching against inventory receipts.
Cross-train with and back up the other senior accountant.

Senior Accountant - A/P, A/R & Credit Qualifications:

Substantial hands-on B2B trade credit experience, including credit analysis, limit recommendations, collections escalations, credit holds, and order-release decisions; cash application experience alone is not sufficient.
Required three-way match experience in a distribution or manufacturing ERP, including research and resolution of supplier price and quantity variances and receipts without invoices.
ERP experience is required. Kerridge K8 is exceptional; Epicor, Infor, NetSuite, or a comparable distribution or manufacturing ERP is highly relevant.
Experience reconciling customer and vendor accounts and resolving invoice, receipt, payment, and account discrepancies in an inventory-heavy environment.
Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn a new system quickly.
A hands-on, player-coach mindset; this is not a supervisory role.
Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable documenting processes with limited institutional knowledge available.
A positive, steady presence with the judgment to ask good questions, stabilize existing processes before proposing changes, and cross-train from day one.
