We are looking for a lab tech / sterilization technician approximately 30 hours per week (3 days per week (6:50 am - 4:30 pm) to assist our clinical team. An ideal candidate would be one that understands how to balance a variety of tasks in order to keep the practice and patients on track.
This position will assist doctors and clinical assistants by making sure all dental chairs/areas are properly cleaned between patients, making sure all of the instruments are being sterilized and ready for upcoming patients, assisting doctors/assistants with suction, gather all dental supplies needed at any time, take x-rays (if certified), make tray set ups for next day appointments and continue to make tray set ups for upcoming appointments throughout the day.
- Properly sterilize all dental instruments and equipment following office workflow, infection control, and risk management processes
- Perform all opening, closing, and maintenance procedures as described in sterilization and maintenance policies, and maintain needed logs
- Restock and maintain an inventory of dental supplies and instruments to ensure a constant level is always available
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the sterilization area and complete weekly spore testing
- Perform weekly and monthly maintenance of ultrasonic equipment and Autoclave.
- Maintain proper pre-set trays and ensure they are ready for anticipated procedures. Proactively review notes in patients’ charts to set-up for the planned treatment. Gather and ready all necessary materials and instruments needed for treatment
- Assist dentists and clinical staff in optimizing patient flow. This will include restocking items, seating patients, assist with charting, ‘floating,’ and supporting other dental team members with patient care
- Laboratory tasks may include utilizing our 3D printer in making retainers and aligners.
- Other responsibilities could include taking records (photos, xrays (when certified)) and other tasks.
