Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing for our assisted living community. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in nursing administration, with proven leadership in long-term care environments. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee all clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a compassionate, resident-centered care environment. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining high standards of patient care while managing a team of nursing professionals to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing services within the assisted living facility, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including medication aides and direct care providers, to promote professional development and high-quality resident care.
Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual resident needs, incorporating best practices in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to long-term care facilities, Medicare requirements, HIPAA privacy standards, and long-term care regulations.
Oversee documentation review processes, including medical records management and EMR/EHR systems utilization to maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
Manage staffing schedules across shifts to ensure adequate coverage while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing burnout.
Monitor quality assurance metrics related to patient care outcomes, regulatory audits, and incident reports to uphold safety and compliance standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care across services such as memory care, hospice, home health, and acute care when applicable.

Requirements

Extensive experience in assisted living or long-term care facilities with a strong background in assisted living operations
Proven leadership experience managing clinical teams within a healthcare setting; supervisory experience required.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for medical records management and patient documentation.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the principles of patient care within a long-term or home health environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop effective care plans tailored to diverse resident needs including memory care populations.
Management skills that include shift management, resource allocation, staff supervision, and administrative clinical supervision.
