St. Louis County is actively searching for a driven, business-oriented professional to fill the role of IT Applications Developer. In this position, the individual will design, build, configure, enhance, and support enterprise applications that enable countywide business operations. The role uniquely combines custom software development with application configuration, placing particular emphasis on platforms like OnBase, Maximo, and other key enterprise systems. The IT Applications Developer will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, carefully assessing their needs, implementing effective solutions, and ensuring the long-term sustainability and reliability of these applications.
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range.
The full salary range, for an IT Applications Developer Associate, including longevity pay, is $30.18 - $42.65 per hour
The full salary range for an IT Applications Developer, including longevity pay, is $34.76 - $49.54 per hour.
The full salary range for an IT Applications Developer Senior, including longevity pay, is $37.40 - $53.43 per hour.
This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.

IT Applications Developer Associate
An employee in this class is responsible for a wide range of routine applications development tasks and projects; assists with routine development efforts to maintain and develop software systems. Duties include assisting in creating and implementing software applications for the County. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

An employee in this class is responsible for a wide range of complex applications development tasks and projects; develops and maintains software applications. Duties include creating and implementing software applications for the County. The work is performed and under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.
IT Applications Developer Senior
An employee in this class is responsible for a wide range of highly complex applications development tasks and projects; leading projects and coordinating the work of a project team; developing, designing, training and planning projects. Duties include creating and implementing software applications for the County. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - IT Applications Developer Associate (Pass/Fail):

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, management information systems, information technology or a closely related field; OR graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in computer science, management information systems, information technology, or a closely related field AND two (2) years full-time paid verifiable experience in either general application development or document imaging/workflow development; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the Human Resources Director.
