ASPIRUS ST. LUKE'S in Duluth, MN is seeking a SURGERY TECHNOLOGIST-CLINICS to join our PAVILION SURGERY CENTER team!
Salary Range: $25.89 - $37.54 Hourly
Schedule/Hours: DAY ONLY, 10 hours
Weekend Requirement: Generally No Weekends
FTE: OCCASIONAL, 0.01 FTE
The Pavilion Surgery Center Surgical Technologists work as members of a health care team alongside physicians and surgeons, registered nurses and other staff in the operating room and is responsible for rendering technical skilled care to patients during operative procedures. Surgical technologists primarily fulfill the first scrub role. Their common tasks and duties can be split into three phases: before the surgical operation (preoperative), during the surgical operation (intraoperative), and after the surgical operation (postoperative). The Surgical Technologist may also be responsible for cleaning and turning over instruments, equipment and rooms for surgery; assists in evaluating the patient plan of care within the operating room environment, contributes to overall unit efficiency, safety, workflow and utilization; performing other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology OR see experience.

Experience: If graduate of surgical technology program, no experience required OR if not a graduate of a surgical technology program, requires 5 years of experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of surgical technologist work experience. Operating room or sterile processing experience strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist).

To communicate verbally and listen to the needs of the patient, the Surgeon, and professional staff within the operating room. Ability to plan, organize and remain attentive throughout surgical procedures; ability to work with and learn to operate technical equipment; to work under stress/pressure; to maintain accurate records/reports; to participate in orientation of new personnel and teaching of students; to see, hear, stand, sit, walk, bend, and talk in English. Able to take call as required by patient care and staffing needs. Maintains confidentiality.
