Full Job Description

Woodbridge First Church of the Nazarene (WoodbridgeNaz) seeks a part-time (20-25h) Office Manager to provide a broad range of support to the Senior Pastor, pastoral staff, and the church community. The Office Manager works consistent, on-site hours in support of the rest of the team. WoodbridgeNaz has been worshipping Jesus and ministering to the needy and homeless in Prince William County for 60 years. We are a small staff team with a mighty heart for our community and foster a warm and respectful working environment.

Christian Faith

Given that we are a Christian organization, spiritual conversations, prayer, and Bible study are part of the work week. The optimal candidate:

Is an active follower of Jesus Christ
Invests in a relationship with God by routinely engaging in the spiritual disciplines of prayer and Bible study
Can balance compassion with boundaries in screening calls from the public
Is trustworthy and willing to be accountable to the church’s leadership and vision

Essential Job Functions:

General Administration

· Answer phones and door

· Process mail and e-mail

· Provide excellent customer service

· Manage the church calendar

· Maintain and update office records and files

· Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming professional office environment

Financial Accountability

· Prepare accounts payable requests for finance team

· Select vendors and manage contracts

· Order supplies within budget constraints

· Statistical reporting

Media & Communication

· Website text updates

· Church bulletin development

· Light graphics and social media work

· Printing/publishing booklets

Ministry Support

· Executive assistant to Sr. Pastor (calendar, coordination, organizing)

· Answer congregant and newcomer questions

· Support other ministry leaders with information/coordination

· Willing to jump into physical and/or compassionate tasks when extra hands are needed (sorting cans for food pantry, referring people to shelter, etc.)

Support other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Highly proficient in the following:

· Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel

· Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, etc.)

· Communication Databases (e.g., Mail Chimp, Planning Center)

· Digital copiers

Helpful Skills

· Digital design (Canva, PowerPoint)

· Accounts payable

· Some Spanish

Characteristics

Enjoy working with a variety of personalities
Clean/neat
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, navigate indoor stairs or outdoor incline, lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., box of dry-goods, case of water)
Ability to pass a criminal background check

Hours

Part-time, 20-25 hours per week
Preferred core on-site office hours are M-F from 10am-2pm
15-20 hours must be worked during business hours Monday-Friday

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Experience:

Administrative: 3 years (Preferred)
Office management: 1 year (Preferred)
