Key Account Manager – Utility Scale Solar

Location: Remote (United States)

Department: Sales & Business Development

Reports To: Director of Sales

Position Summary

Hounen Solar is seeking a Key Account Manager to drive utility-scale solar module sales and develop strategic relationships with solar developers, IPPs, EPC contractors, and other key stakeholders across the U.S. renewable energy market.

This role will focus on expanding Hounen Solar's presence within the utility-scale solar sector by identifying opportunities, developing customer relationships, and supporting project opportunities from early-stage development through procurement and project execution.

The ideal candidate possesses strong industry relationships within the utility-scale solar market and understands the project development lifecycle, including site acquisition, permitting, interconnection, financing, EPC execution, and project commercialization.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop and manage relationships with utility-scale solar developers, IPPs, EPC contractors, utilities, and project owners.
Identify and pursue module sales opportunities for utility-scale solar projects throughout North America.
Generate new business opportunities and expand Hounen Solar's customer base.
Manage the entire sales process from lead generation through contract execution.
Work closely with project development, procurement, engineering, and finance teams to support customer requirements.
Develop account strategies for key customers and strategic market segments.
Track utility-scale solar project pipelines and identify opportunities for Hounen Solar products.
Support commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract execution.
Represent Hounen Solar at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Maintain market intelligence regarding developers, EPCs, utilities, competitors, and industry trends.
Collaborate with internal teams to support product positioning and customer satisfaction.

QualificationsRequired

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar, energy storage, renewable energy, power generation, or related industries.
Proven experience selling products or services into utility-scale solar developers, EPCs, IPPs, or utilities.
Strong network within the renewable energy industry.
Demonstrated success developing new customer relationships and generating revenue growth.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Ability to travel as required.

Preferred

Experience selling solar modules, trackers, inverters, transformers, energy storage systems, or EPC services.
Existing relationships with utility-scale developers, EPC contractors, and IPPs.
Understanding of project development, permitting, interconnection, financing, and PPA structures.
Experience supporting projects exceeding 50MW in size.
Knowledge of U.S. domestic content requirements and utility-scale procurement practices.
