Full Job Description

The Marketing Specialist supports Pinellas PAL’s mission by increasing community awareness, promoting programs and events, and sharing the impact of the organization through strategic marketing, communications, and storytelling. This role is responsible for developing digital and print marketing materials, capturing photo and video content, managing Pinellas PAL’s website and social media presence, and creating compelling stories and communications that engage participants, families, donors, sponsors, and the broader community.

This position requires creativity, strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Work is evaluated through the quality and effectiveness of marketing materials, digital engagement, community awareness, and the achievement of organizational marketing goals.

Reports to: Director of Operations, with collaboration and support from the Executive Director

Work Location: Hybrid position with flexible remote work opportunities; regular on-site attendance is required to capture content, support events, and collaborate with staff.

Job Requirements:

Relevant marketing, communications, or related work experience preferred
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, or a related field preferred
Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software, photo and video editing tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace is preferred
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and identify creative solutions to challenges
Reliable transportation
Proficiency with multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging digital platforms
Comfortable using photography and video equipment, including smartphones and cameras, to capture high-quality content for marketing and promotional purposes
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to support special events, program activities, and capture marketing content
Must pass a Level 2 Background Check conducted by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, as well as additional fingerprinting with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). https://info.flclearinghouse.com/

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

Design and execute a marketing and communications plan to promote programs, events, and highlight Pinellas PAL’s impact.
Create marketing content, including newsletters, social media posts, flyers, banners, graphics, and press releases, to inform the community and engage stakeholders.
Capture photos and videos of Pinellas PAL programs, events, participants, and community activities to showcase our impact and create engaging marketing and storytelling content.
Share program updates, achievements, participant stories, and organizational successes to inspire community members, donors, sponsors, and families.
Maintain, update, and schedule content for Pinellas PAL’s website and social media platforms with relevant program, event, and organizational information.
Create and send quarterly newsletters.
Create and distribute email blasts as needed to communicate updates, events, and organizational news.
Respond to marketing-related inquiries from the community, donors, and program participants, and coordinate with Pinellas PAL staff to address program-specific questions.
Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, including social media engagement, website analytics, email marketing results, and community reach; prepare reports and updates for leadership and the Board of Directors and make recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness and community engagement.
Assist with marketing and promotional efforts for special events as needed.
Monitor emerging social media trends, platform updates, and digital marketing best practices, and recommend creative ways to adapt and implement them to promote Pinellas PAL programs, events, and community impact.
