Beacon is a successful and national behavioral health company providing residential-based services and supports to children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Illness, Autism, and high-acuity behaviors. All activities related to this position must be delivered in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, accreditation standards, state and federal licensing requirements, HCBS guidelines, and the contractual requirements of Community Mental Health Agencies and other regulatory bodies. The Lead Day Program Professional (Lead DPP) is responsible for ensuring individuals have engaging and person-centered experiences that promote independence, community integration and overall well-being.
- Always be compliant with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Supervise daily work groups of program participants, ensuring safety, job completion and participation in activities.
- Assist with production needs by ensuring quality of work to outside work contracts where applicable
- Maintains inventories of all outside work contracts where applicable
- Supervise and direct all program participant production activity as assigned and where applicable
- Maintain compliance with external and internal policies and demonstrate in the procedures associated with being on time, being clean and neat, and be referring often to established procedures to ensure these are carried out accurately.
- Attend managers’ meetings as directed.
- Attend and participate in program staff training and development as needed. Perform training as requested/needed.
- Practice safe and sound crisis prevention and intervention strategies by utilizing restrictive procedures only as a last resort and only when there is clear potential for injury, by insisting on preventative activities and early intervention and teaching staff to do likewise.
- Supervises the procedures and the documentation as needed and oversee consumer payroll where applicable
- Maintains appropriate communication links with staff and management throughout the work environment.
- Maintains the work environment in the standards of cleanliness as outlined by the agency and work expectations of the Manager.
- Implementation of the mission statement.
- Oversee workflow throughout the facility, train staff on correct job codes, as well as correct way to complete hand assembly /drill press operations to maintain current standard to ensure proper time studies where applicable
- Supervise daily work groups ensuring safety, job completion and participation in all activities.
- Review and check program participant payroll weekly to ensure accuracy. This includes accurate hours as well as accurate count of work completed where applicable
- Enter program participant payroll on scheduled day onto the shared drive, ensure consumer payroll process is complete, review and approve pre-processing register where applicable
- Review and collect production monthly quality assessment forms. Ensure every individual completing hand assembling/drill press has one completed per month where applicable
- Coordinate the proper assignment of SMW work to each group where applicable
- Create and maintain a shortage plan needed to ensure the overall safety of those present each day at program, as needed.
- Cover staffing shortages, when necessary, by working a group when program is short staffed.
- Completes building checklists after monthly fire drills, as needed.
- Completes work orders as needed.
- Must be compliant with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Preserve and protect the privacy, confidentiality and security of all medical records, proprietary and other confidential information relating to Beacon Specialized Living, its Individuals, Team Members, activities and affiliates, in accordance with all applicable laws (especially HIPAA) and contract terms.
- Promote Beacon in a positive manner and lead by example, modeling our core values in everyday behavior.
- Monitors and corrects employee gossip, harassment, favoritism, and other negative social workplace behaviors to ensure a positive and productive work environment.

- Follow Beacon’s policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Cooperates with Beacon Specialized Living, the Department of Human Services (DHS) staff or any other regulatory body during any inspection, investigation or inquiry.

- High School Diploma and two years of experience in manufacturing and/or industrial work environment as well as work in the human services profession or;
- Demonstrated ability to work with people, program objectives and have effective communications skills in our organization for a minimum of six months.
- Must pass criminal background checks, central registry check (in applicable states) and child abuse registry (in applicable states).
- Must complete and pass a drug test, in applicable states.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
- Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs.
- Ability to use office equipment, including BSLS information technology systems.
- Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong computer skills utilizing various software programs and applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to create professional employee communication materials.
- Capable of working well with all levels of the organization.
- A professional demeanor.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work with little daily supervision.
- Day Program work site, consisting of production work areas, community outings, transportation, program specific activity areas, offices and outside surrounding grounds.
- May experience exposure to body fluids and the need to provide personal, private care to individuals; sound practice of universal precautions is necessary.

- Ability to run a distance of 50 feet.
- Ability to perform manual restraints as needed.
- Ability to walk a distance of 100 feet, 10 times during an 8-hour period.
- Ability to correctly lift 50 pounds from the floor to chest height 15 times in an 8-hour period.
