Job Summary

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe food preparation environment while assisting with basic food prep tasks. Your dedication ensures that our kitchen meets the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and quality, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional dining experiences every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced food service environment.

Responsibilities

Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines and safety standards
Maintain a clean work area by regularly cleaning countertops, sinks, floors, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances
Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients according to menu specifications and dietary requirements
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination during meal prep
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy service times

Experience

Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations and safety standards
Knowledge of food industry practices including food handling, sanitation, and safety management
Skills in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation are advantageous
Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers (knife skills), mixers, and other culinary tools
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
