As we continue to grow — especially with our expanding Power Lunch Catering and private event business — we’re looking for a hands-on Kitchen Lead to help keep operations running smoothly and support the next phase of our growth.
Position Summary
The Kitchen Lead is an active, hands-on role. You’ll work the line alongside the team, assist with prep and quality control, and help ensure shifts run efficiently. This position plays an important role in maintaining kitchen systems, controlling food costs, and keeping service moving during busy periods.
You’ll also work closely with ownership to ensure catering orders, private events, and large parties are prepared, organized, and executed with consistency and care.
This role is ideal for a reliable, experienced cook who wants to step up into a leadership role while still being part of the action in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Work the line and assist with prep during service
- Ensure food is properly prepped and ready for service so the kitchen runs smoothly
- Maintain consistent portion control and food preparation standards
- Track and manage food costs through portion control, waste tracking, and inventory awareness
- Help keep kitchen budgets and food cost targets on track
- Monitor and reduce waste, over-portioning, and product loss
- Maintain fast, efficient ticket times and keep kitchen service moving
- Help maintain kitchen systems that keep the team organized and efficient
- Support, train, and motivate kitchen staff
- Work alongside ownership to plan and execute catering orders, events, and large parties
- Assist with ordering, inventory counts, and product organization
- Maintain high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization
- Communicate with management about kitchen needs, ideas, and improvements
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a cook or kitchen lead required
- Strong cooking and organizational skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently during busy service — speed and urgency are essential in this role
- Reliable, team-focused attitude with solid communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and problem-solve under pressure
- Comfortable working nights and weekends
- Familiarity with inventory management or cost control is a plus
Schedule & Pay
- Full-time, 35–40+ hours per week
- Primary schedule: Nights and weekends
- Schedule may vary based on events and catering
- Starting pay: $20+/hour depending on experience
