Job Description
Denver Fire Alarm is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter / Installation Technician to join our field team.
This position is focused primarily on the installation, modification, repair, and renovation of commercial fire sprinkler systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing sprinkler pipe and components, reading plans, laying out work, coordinating with other trades, and completing projects safely and efficiently.
This role may include new construction, tenant improvements, remodels, system modifications, deficiency repairs, and other fire sprinkler work throughout the Denver metro area.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial fire sprinkler systems in accordance with approved plans and applicable codes
- Install, modify, relocate, and replace sprinkler piping and components
- Install sprinkler heads, valves, hangers, fittings, drains, gauges, and related equipment
- Cut, thread, groove, and assemble sprinkler piping
- Perform system modifications for tenant improvements and remodel projects
- Assist with fire sprinkler repairs and deficiency correction
- Read and interpret fire sprinkler drawings, plans, details, and specifications
- Lay out piping and equipment based on project drawings and field conditions
- Coordinate work with general contractors, electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and other trades
- Identify field conflicts and communicate issues to project management
- Perform pressure testing and assist with system startup and turnover
- Maintain accurate material and labor records
- Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and materials
- Follow OSHA requirements, jobsite safety rules, and company safety procedures
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, inspectors, and Denver Fire Alarm personnel
- Assist with other fire sprinkler project and service work as needed
Qualifications
- Commercial fire sprinkler installation experience preferred
- Experience with wet and dry sprinkler systems preferred
- Ability to cut, thread, groove, and install sprinkler piping
- Ability to read fire sprinkler drawings and construction plans
- Knowledge of proper sprinkler piping, hanger, and installation practices
- Familiarity with NFPA 13 and applicable installation requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Ability to safely operate lifts, ladders, power tools, and construction equipment
- NICET certification is a plus
- Applicable fitter licenses or certifications are a plus
- Foreman or lead experience is a plus
- Service and inspection experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of commercial construction work

Actual compensation will be based on experience, certifications, licensing, technical ability, and overall qualifications.

Pay: $22.35 - $45.00 per hour
