Full Job Description

General Description/Primary Purpose:

The 1919 Hotel is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Auditor to oversee overnight hotel operations, provide exceptional guest service, and complete daily financial reconciliation using the MEWS Property Management System. The Night Auditor serves as the primary hotel representative during overnight hours and plays a critical role in ensuring guest satisfaction, property security, and accurate daily reporting.

Classification: Part-time Staff, Non-Exempt

Appointment: 12-month

Description of Job Functions:

Welcome and assist late-arriving guests
Process guest check-ins and check-outs
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns
Answer telephone inquiries and make reservations as needed
Maintain a positive and hospitable guest experience
Complete daily night audit procedures within the MEWS Property Management System
Verify room charges, payments, and revenue postings
Balance daily transactions and reconcile guest accounts
Generate required financial and operational reports
Ensure accuracy of hotel records and documentation
Conduct routine security walks of the property
Monitor hotel entrances and common areas
Respond appropriately to emergencies or guest incidents
Coordinate with management regarding maintenance or safety concerns
Prepare reports for hotel management
Maintain organized front desk records
Ensure confidentiality of guest and financial information
Assist with reservations and occupancy management
Other duties as assigned.
Complete all training assigned by the Human Resources Department.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Individuals must possess these kinds of knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the job’s essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Strong computer and technology skills
Excellent communication and guest service abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds occasionally
Ability to respond quickly to guest and property needs during overnight hours

Hours:

Part-time hours will not exceed 29 hours per week. The schedule will be during the overnight shift (Monday- Friday 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM). Weekends and holidays may be required.

Qualification Standards:

Minimum Educational Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Experience: Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience.
Professionalism: The Murray State College staff members are expected to show professional competence, integrity, and enthusiasm in performing all responsibilities.
Image: Murray State College employees are expected to maintain a neat, well-groomed, professional image while performing their responsibilities.
Background Check: The successful candidate must give permission to have a formal background check conducted and employment is contingent upon the results of the national criminal and sex offender background check

Pay: $15.00 per hour
