Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and maintain compliance with industry standards. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing the company’s financial records, supporting audit processes, and implementing effective accounting practices. Your expertise will help drive financial integrity and support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, accounts payable automation, and vendor payments using financial software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
Oversee accounts receivable management, ensuring timely collections and accurate recording of customer transactions.
Conduct detailed data entry and Excel data analysis utilizing formulas like VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet techniques to support financial reporting.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements across all accounting functions.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
Collaborate with internal teams on process improvements related to accounting systems like Workday, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, or similar platforms.

Qualifications

Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial concepts.
Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, SAP, Oracle Financials or equivalent systems.
Experience with public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, analyze financial data, and prepare accurate journal entries.
Skilled in Excel data analysis with proficiency in formulas like VLOOKUP and creating detailed spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and financial compliance standards including SOX controls.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Effective communication skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
