Full Job Description

About the Firm

The Firm is a boutique law firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina, providing sophisticated legal services in corporate and business transactions and planning, commercial real estate transactions, estate planning, probate, trust administration and tax planning and representation. We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support our growing transactional practice.

Position Overview

The firm seeks a detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to support attorneys with commercial real estate transactions. Specifically, support with the full cycle of a real estate transaction, from the creation of the purchase and sale agreement, customary due diligence work, title work, transactional document preparation and closing logistics. The ideal candidate brings hands-on SoftPro proficiency and prior exposure to commercial real estate matters, though strong residential closers experienced in the full cycle of a real estate transaction, with an interest in expanding into commercial work will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the transaction process from inception to closing

- Prepare and review title searches, title commitments, and closing packages, including HUD-1/settlement statements

- Draft and finalize deeds, deeds of trust, affidavits, and other conveyance and financing documents

- Coordinate transaction deliverables among buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, and opposing counsel

- Conduct due diligence including survey review, UCC searches, judgment and tax lien searches, and entity document review

- Prepare and track closing checklists and critical date lists from contract through post-closing

- Handle document recording with county Registers of Deeds and filings with the NC Secretary of State

- Assist with entity formation and maintenance documents for commercial transaction parties

- Calculate and prorate closing costs, taxes, and other settlement figures

- Maintain organized electronic and hard copy files in compliance with firm and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a real estate paralegal

- Demonstrated proficiency with SoftPro is required

- Prior experience with commercial real estate transactions strongly preferred, including purchase and sale agreements, loan documentation, and closing binders

- Familiarity with title insurance processes, and settlement statement preparation

-Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple closings and deadlines simultaneously

- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred

Preferred Skills

- Experience with UCC filings, entity formation documents, and due diligence coordination for commercial deals

- Familiarity with commercial lender documents and required lender deliverables

- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client, lender, and broker coordination and interaction

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
