Full Job Description

PayBright is a rapidly growing merchant services company serving businesses nationwide. We operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where strong execution, accountability, and attention to detail are essential.

We are seeking an Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operational rhythm of the business. This is an execution-focused leadership role responsible for ensuring that recurring operational processes—daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly—are completed accurately, on time, and properly documented.

The Operations Manager will provide oversight across key functions, including support, deployment, reporting, and cross-functional workflows, ensuring priorities stay on track and nothing falls through the cracks. You will not be responsible for doing every task yourself; rather, you will ensure the right people are completing the right work, on time, every time.

Success in this role means:

No missed deadlines on recurring operational processes
Clear visibility into key operational metrics and performance
Backlogs, bottlenecks, and potential issues identified and addressed proactively
Teams consistently meeting established SLAs
Leadership has clear visibility without having to chase down updates
Processes are organized, documented, and consistently followed

This is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who thrives on structure, accountability, follow-through, and keeping teams moving forward.

This position is based in Raleigh, NC, and requires working in the office four days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Track, monitor, and enforce SLA adherence across teams to ensure operational commitments are consistently met.
Provide leadership with clear, accurate, and real-time visibility into operational performance, priorities, and potential issues.
Serve as the central point of coordination across Customer Support, Technical Support, Deployment, and Finance.
Own and manage recurring operational processes, including weekly KPI reporting, monthly residual reporting, and other scheduled reporting requirements.
Build, maintain, and continuously improve dashboards across Support, Deployment, and Technical Support.
Create and maintain structured operational trackers, checklists, workflows, and reporting cadences to ensure consistent execution.
Oversee operational queues, including support tickets, deployments, and technical support backlogs.
Proactively identify operational risks, including backlogs, aging work, missed deadlines, and SLA concerns, and ensure timely resolution.
Identify bottlenecks and drive follow-through, holding teams accountable for completing work accurately and on schedule.
Escalate delays and operational issues as appropriate and work with team leaders to establish and execute resolution plans.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, efficiency, and cross-functional communication.
Partner with leadership and future systems-focused roles to document key processes, establish standard operating procedures, and implement operational improvements.
Monitor and coordinate operational changes, including holiday schedules, office closures, phone system updates, employee out-of-office notifications, and company-wide communications, ensuring all changes are completed accurately and communicated promptly.
Maintain a high level of organization and operational discipline to ensure priorities, deadlines, and recurring processes never fall through the cracks.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
3–7 years of experience in operations, business operations, project coordination, or a similar role.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proven ability to drive follow-through, accountability, and timely execution across multiple teams.
Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Strong analytical and data-oriented mindset with experience creating, tracking, analyzing, and reporting KPIs.
Demonstrated ability to identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies and proactively drive solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with team members and leadership at all levels.
Experience creating and maintaining dashboards, trackers, checklists, workflows, and operational reporting.
Experience with CRM, project management, and workflow tools such as Zoho, Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, ClickUp, or similar platforms.
Highly self-motivated, proactive, and persistent, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
