Full Job Description

Boise Hunter Homes is looking to add an In-House Attorney to the team, who is dynamic, business minded and covers a multitude of disciplines. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed below, this role will also be in charge of preparing and presenting at public agencies such as planning and zoning, city council, Ada County, etc. on the developer’s behalf.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Land Use & Real Estate: Advise on legal aspects of land acquisition, due diligence, zoning, permitting, environmental compliance, and joint ventures.
Contracts & Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, such as purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, vendor and contractor agreements, and loan/financing documents.
Risk Management & Compliance: Oversee and advise on legal risks across real estate, homebuilding, construction, and employment matters. Manage litigation, insurance, and licensing.
Corporate Governance: CC&R creation and amendments for development projects, policies, and adherence to all applicable regulations.
Litigation management: Manage legal disputes and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
Employment law: Provide legal support on employment matters, employment agreements, and human resources matters.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
5+ years of relevant legal experience preferably working for a law firm specializing in real estate/land use or private developer/homebuilder.
A deep understanding of the laws and regulations specific to our industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical, business-minded approach.
The ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
