Full Job Description

Northwest Neurobehavioral Health (NNH), LLC, located in Meridian, Idaho, and one of Idaho’s largest multidisciplinary community clinics, is currently recruiting a clinical neuropsychologist to provide clinical assessment, neuropsychological evaluations, and consultation services across a broad age range and neurological disorders. Patients at NNH present with a variety of neurological concerns, including traumatic/acquired brain injury, prenatal substance exposure, genetic abnormalities, seizure disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, executive dysfunction, and other neurocognitive disorders. Referrals for adults with age-, illness- and injury-related impairments are also referred to our neuropsychology department. Neuropsychologists at NNH frequently consult with in-house disciplines, including speech and occupational therapy, counseling/social work, psychology, and psychiatry. They also maintain cooperative consulting roles with community agencies, such as schools, case managers, service providers, and primary care physicians. While the primary duties of this position involves conducting neuropsychological assessments, neuropsychologists may also seek out opportunities to provide psychotherapy, as well as participate in a weekly multidisciplinary autism assessment clinic, and conduct research projects using a working clinical database of assessments conducted at NNH.

While the practice is largely insurance-dependent, our collection rates are high, and insurance panel credentialing is provided. Testing materials and office space are also available. In addition, our clinic has several support staff who help provide scheduling, prior authorization requests, billing, translation services, liaison with managed care, and practice management. Work hours are flexible and peer consultation is available.

Meridian, Idaho is a suburb of the state capitol, Boise. The Boise metropolitan area is dynamic with two universities, intense college sports programs, historical architecture and landmarks, and low cost of living. Boise is home to the Broncos Stadium, Bogus Basin Ski Resort, the World Center for Birds of Prey, and Boise National Forest. Music lovers can also enjoy weekly outdoor music festivals during summer months. Year-round entertainment options include Ballet Idaho, symphony, theatrical performances, mountain biking, and hiking. Boise also provides a unique treatment environment, as it is at the center of a vast, medically underserved, rural area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited graduate program
Completion of an accredited internship program with an emphasis on neuropsychological assessment
State of Idaho Licensed Psychologist or license eligible
Knowledge and experience conducting neuropsychological assessments within a broad range of patient populations (i.e. children, adolescents, teenagers and adults) and diverse presenting concerns
Familiarity with the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
Ability to effectively communicate psychological information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by patients and families

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Conduct Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment by reviewing patient’s presenting concerns, background information, and medical history
Administer and score neuropsychological assessment measures with a diverse patient population
Write comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation reports integrating assessment results with background information, and providing diagnoses and treatment recommendations
Provide individual feedback session with patient and family members to describe the results of the evaluation and any subsequent treatment recommendations
Document assessments in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implement and adhere to policies which ensure patient confidentiality
Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

NNH is a National Health Service Corp approved site for the HRSA Loan Repayment program
There are opportunities to collaborate/consult with other providers within the organization, including speech/language and occupational therapists, counselors, clinical social workers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and other neuropsychologists
While NNH does not hold any official university ties, several clinical staff members at NNH have held, or currently hold adjunct faculty positions at universities in the Boise area, and additional teaching opportunities may be available for future clinicians
All assessment measures and tools are available through NNH
There are several opportunities to provide educational presentations and workshops to organizations in the community to enhance professional development
The position is a full-time, 1099 contractor position; contractor fees commensurate with other community agencies
