Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PT Technician/Care Coordinator Back-up, where your energy and dedication will directly enhance patient recovery and well-being. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to physical therapists and care teams by assisting with patient care, transfers, and rehabilitation activities. Your proactive approach will ensure seamless operations within inpatient, outpatient, and post-acute care settings, contributing to positive patient outcomes and a compassionate environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in physiotherapy support while making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives.

Responsibilities

Assist physical therapists with patient intake, assessments, and treatment preparations to ensure efficient therapy sessions.
Support patient transfer methods using proper manual handling techniques to promote safety and comfort.
Provide hands-on assistance with rehabilitation exercises, mobility training, and post-acute care activities under supervision.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality while managing sensitive health information in accordance with privacy regulations.
Help monitor patient progress, document observations accurately, and communicate updates to the care team.
Prepare treatment areas, sterilize equipment, and ensure all safety protocols are followed during therapy sessions.
Support hospital or clinical staff by performing routine tasks such as heavy lifting or positioning patients for therapy or transfers when needed.

Skills

Strong commitment to patient service with excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse patient populations.
Practical experience practicing in a physical therapy or related healthcare role, including inpatient or hospital settings.
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and rehabilitation principles essential for effective support.
Proficiency in manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods to ensure safety during mobility assistance.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for rehabilitation care assistance.
Familiarity with CPR certification and acute care procedures to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Experience working within hospital medicine, orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care environments is highly desirable.
