Petal Pickers Flower Co., is a small farm operation specializing in growing fresh and fragrant varieties of specialty cut flowers. We supply fresh seasonal cut flowers, distinctive bouquets, and botanicals to retail establishments and floral studios to North and South Carolina.

Job description

Petal Pickers Flower Co. is a cut flower farm in Piedmont, SC. At Petal Pickers we grow a wide variety of flowers for cut flower production. We are looking for Farm help! Job duties include seed starting, plug transplanting, watering plants, weeding the flowers, watering, flower harvesting, bouquet making, and other routine farm tasks. You must be willing to work outside daily. If you are passionate about flowers and working outside with nature, please apply. At the same time this is a very physical job, and will be working outdoors with all elements of nature. There will be lots of bugs, sweat, and mud, along with flowers. Please be mindful of our time when applying.

We are hiring for the following schedules:

Monday-Thursday (8AM-12PM)
Wednesday-Friday (8AM-12PM)
Monday -Thursday (8AM-3PM)

Tardiness/Call-Outs will not be tolerated. Please consider which schedule to which you can commit.

**This job is a seasonal position. Our growing season has started and will run through Mid-November.

Do you enjoy working outdoors, fresh air, moving at a fast pace, and working amongst the flowers? Then our Position of Seasonal Harvest/Field Crew Team Member is for you! With this role, you’ll get to completely immerse yourself in almost all areas of the Petal Pickers Farm. Crew members will gain an understanding of all aspects of running a sustainable flower farm while planting, cultivating, irrigating, mowing, managing unheated greenhouses, and of course – harvesting flowers! Spend your days outside in a high energy environment where we work (rain or shine) to bring these lovely flowers to our customers.

Seasonal Field Crew Team Member (Job Description)

Looking to hire now. This position is seasonal part-time, with the possibility of year-round employment if the employee is excelling in this role.

Students in ag-based programs are also encouraged to apply.

Field Crew Team Members will be involved in, but not limited to, the following on the farm:

- Planting, cultivating, washing buckets, and harvesting flowers.

- Harvest will happen every morning throughout the busy season. After harvest, other field/farm tasks will be accomplished.

- This position may also include post-harvest handling/processing of flowers in workshop.

Qualifications:

- 1 season of farming or comparable Outdoor work experience.

- Prior experience in farming a plus

- Ability to work in Indoor/Outdoor Environment

- Rain or Shine/Warm or Cold Temperatures

- Ability to monitor quality control and work efficiently in fast-paced environment

- Valid driver’s license needed

Employee is responsible for housing, reliable transportation to farm, and appropriate farm clothes/raingear.

You will be expected to be punctual and show up to work as scheduled. Call-outs and No-Shows will not be tolerated if occurring on a regular basis.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
